Google uses AI video and audio to promote latest Veo 3 software.

(Google 2025)
On July 29, 2025, Google released a video across its social media platforms, promoting its latest AI video software, Veo 3.0. The sponsored post has been circulating on users’ feeds for the past two and a half months, featuring footage and audio that was generated using AI.
Google’s post stars an AI-generated vampire, as he breaks down the steps the viewer can take to generate him themselves. The video then takes a humorous turn when the vampire gets generated into various ironic circumstances and locations.
He is seen under the hot sun, in a tanning bed, and walking through a garlic festival, all of which he expresses his extreme dislike toward. Audio-wise, there are bat noises, a pipe organ, wolves howling, and spoken narration from the AI vampire character. All of these elements are used to produce an advertisement that is informative with a playful tone. However, none of these elements can be considered original or unique to the video, as they were all generated via computer, using pre-existing content.
Google Gemini’s Veo 3 officially debuted in May 2025 as the first AI software with the capability to generate videos with audio. As quoted from Google’s AI research lab, Google DeepMind (2025a), “[Veo 3 is] our latest video generation model, designed to empower filmmakers and storytellers.” Also described, are the advancements and features Veo 3 has in comparison to past models, including improved realism, greater prompt accuracy, and increased creative control.
Although Google has been involved in the world of AI for years, its first generative video AI software, or Veo 1.0, did not become widely accessible to the public until May 2024. When the program initially launched, its capabilities were much more limited. The footage produced was short, mute, slow-moving, and out-of-focus.
Veo 1.o example footage — Google
When comparing the Veo 1.0 example footage to Google’s post using Veo 3.0, it becomes apparent just how rapidly generative AI is evolving. Veo’s generative abilities were once abrupt and nondescript. Now, after only one year, the footage, and now audio, being produced is of high enough quality to be used in an advertisement by a major corporation.
This rapid evolution has many consumers of artificial intelligence questioning what the future of generative AI has in store. Is it going to continue to evolve at such a rapid rate? Or is it eventually going to hit a point where it plateaus?
